RedSky Technologies' Solution Supports SIP End Points and Voice PlatformsOctober 31, 2011

RedSky (News - Alert) Technologies, a provider of automated E911 solutions, announced the launch of its next-generation enterprise-class E911 software, which enables the delivery of detailed location information necessary to provide effective 9-1-1 emergency response. Version 6 of the E911 Manager leverages the power of Java and Linux, delivering unprecedented scalability, resiliency and capability to enterprise, government and education customers deploying virtual computing environments, SIP and Unified Communications (News - Alert) networks, company officials said.The solution integrates with major call servers/PBXs, so users can track phone location movement and monitor for 9-1-1 calls. By updating phone locations in both regional ALI databases and its cloud-based E911 Anywhere, E911 Manager delivers accurate location information to emergency responders. The highly scalable and resilient E911 Manager Version 6 runs in a virtual environment or on a dedicated server. A single instance of Version 6 can support up to 50 call servers/PBXs and up to 100,000 endpoints. With add-on modules, it is able to deliver notifications of 9-1-1 calls in progress and provide location tracking for Wi-Fi and softphones. In other industry news, SIP End Points leader Panasonic (News - Alert) took advantage of every minute at AstriCon last week as it showcased its extensive range of IP telephony solutions at its booth. An AstriCon 2011 Gold Sponsor, Panasonic demoed its broad range of SIP phones including its SIP Cordless Phone Systems and KX-UT series which are interoperable with Asterisk's (News - Alert) open source PBX. Panasonic's SIP telephones work with the Asterisk platform which offers both classical PBX functionality and advanced UC features, according to company officials.
